First, it’s my birthday month. Yes, I said month. Being on the “back 9” as I like to call it, the more birthdays I have, the more I realize that I don’t know for sure how many more birthdays I will have. And besides, every year lived is worthy of extended celebration – the challenges and the achievements. I strongly recommend embracing the birthday month. And the half birthday, but we’ll save that for another time.

This one is a half biggie. I will be halfway through 50 and 60 in 2 weeks! And I will say, I’m feeling pretty feisty and fierce about it, hence the picture.

Recently when I was at my first full-blown professional headshot session, I was really focused on capturing a neutral expression. Kudos to all the actors out there that are successful at this, because this was as close as I got.

Not only did I not master the neutral face, I realized that there’s nothing attractive to me about appearing neutral. The definition of neutral is to be impartial, and not have an opinion or philosophy one way or the other. It’s emotionless, really.

*And by the way, how come none of you have told me about that jawline I am owning in this pic? I could have been working that bad boy for all these years.

But that’s not what I see in the mirror.

We see ourselves differently than others do. Our innate talents are just that – innate and natural. So they don’t seem like a big deal to us. But to someone who doesn’t have that skill but really needs it, that talent is unbelievably valuable to them. So you need to start talking about it that way.

I want to stand out through clear and original content, to feel confident in the spotlight so my people can see me. And I seriously want to help you do the same. If you’re ready for the spotlight and to speak fiercely about who you are, what you do, and how your unique life experience has set you up to work your magic like no one else can, it’s time for us to have “the talk”.

You can schedule that right now, right here: https://bit.ly/2P0f9Vq
